Description

The Tablao de Carmen opened its doors in 1988 to pay homage to Carmen Amaya, internationally known flamenco “bailaora”.  The Tablao presents a pure flamenco show of great quality, direct heir to the “flamenca” tradition. This show dynamically presents some of the most important styles of flamenco so that the spectator can discover the richness and variety of this art. It also gives the leading role alternately to its different expressions: music, song and dance. The Tablao de Carmen is located within the walls of Poble Espanyol, on the mountain of Montjuïc. Built in 1929 for the city’s Universal Exhibition, Poble Espanyol is the finest proof of the richness and variety of Spanish architecture, history and culture of the country. Visiting the Spanish Village, having dinner while watching a flamenco show at Tablao de Carmen, is an authentic experience to do at all costs. From the beautiful Arcos Street in the Andalusian quarter of the Spanish Village, the Tablao invites you to come and discover the best architecture, a live flamenco show and authentic Spanish gastronomy.
